Armed robbers stormed Ogbeozoma quarter, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, killing a young man, Uchechukwu, who is from the Eastern Part of Nigeria.
Sources confirmed to ZN that the gang stormed the compound of their victim where the wife had a chemist shop. On storming the shop the wife was met while the man was not at home. However the robbers who were demanding for the woman’s phone and money did get access into the chemist shop, because the woman had already locked herself inside the shop and was shouting for help. During the process the husband who was not at home just ride in with his bike, unfortunately running into the robbers who stabbed him on the chest. According to the source, the robbers flew the scene after forcing themselves into the shop collecting the phone and money.
Sources had it that the man was rushed to a private hospital in Okpanam, but was referred to Asaba Specialist Hospital, Okpanam. The man died on the way to the hospital.
Since the establishment of a hotel in the area which is housing prostitutes and where illicit drugs are sold, insecurity in the area has increased.
Ogbeozoma residents are appealing to the Delta State Governor and the Commissioner for Police, through this medium to come to their aids to curb the menace of insecurity and illicit drugs activities in the hotel and in the area other.
