The Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Arthur Akpovwowo and Commissioner for Water Resources in Delta State, Barr Evelyn Omawowan Oboro are among the nine members of the State Executive Council in Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s administration that have allegedly resigned their appointments to pursue their 2023 political aspirations.
It was learnt that their resignation was in line with the constitutional requirements for appointees in government to resign a month to the primary elections.
On his part, the Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, at a post Exco media briefing was asked on the resignation of the nine Commissioners, he said “If you don’t see some members of Exco in the next meeting, do know that they have complied with the provision of the Electoral Act of 2022 as passed by the National Assembly.
Evelyn Oboro who is an indigene of Uvwie Local Government Area of the State, is vying for the position of House of Representatives.
In 2011, she was elected to represent Okpe/ Sapele/Uvwie Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives and was re-elected in 2015.
Also, she contested for the House of Senate for Delta Central Senatorial District but failed to achieve her dreams.
ZN reports revealed that Oboro attended Alebo Secondary School, Effurun, Uvwie LGA. In 1988, she had her West African Senior School Certificate. She proceeded to Delta State University and graduated with Bachelor’s degree 1n 1997. In 2002, she held her master’s degree in Public Administration and a Degree in law (LLB) in 2009.
