Panic In Okpa.nam, As IPOB Prepares For Showdown

There are fears in Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State as Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is prepared for showdown on May 27th and 29th 2023.
On the 19th of May, 2023 IPOB in their large numbers came out from their settlement centre between the boundaries of Obodogwugwu Village Okpanam, Ugbolu and Anwai area to notify residents that there will be a break down of Law and order in the area.
Fears have griped residents of Okpanam Since IPOB has sounded notice of warning to them, many residents have started vaccating their residential homes and businesses For fear of losing their lives and properties.
Before now, innocent persons had lost their lives to the Indigenous People of Biafra as a result of their undemocratic activities.
Surprisingly, on May 20th, 2023 a lady residing in one of the areas close to the IPOB settlement area was prevented from supervising the just concluded primary 6 examination that took place across the country last week. Despite all her pleas, she was blocked from participating in the supervision of the examination.
This strange character of the IPOB has become source of worries to the residents of Okpanam.
Checks have revealed that the place IPOB is using as their hideout is divided by a river between the boundaries of Okpanam, Ugbolu and Anwai town.
It was learnt that the settlement area was formerly use by cult groups in initiating their new members.
It was gathered that for long, IPOB has set aside every Saturday for their weekly activities, making it difficult for residents to go out for their lawful businesses.
Many Nigerians have lost their lives in the hands of IPOB .as a result of their disturbances across the south eastern states.
A clarion call has been made by residents on the government of Delta State and security agencies to beef up security in the area for protection of lives and properties of the citizens.
If the government and security agencies fail to put proper security measure on the activities of IPOB, many Nigerians may lose their lives.
