The Owa traditional ruler in Ika North East of Delta State, HRM Emmanuel Ifezomor was humiliated in the hospital when he visited the Director of Protocol in the Delta State Government House, Ifeanyi Eboigbe, who was admitted for an undisclosed illness in a private hospital in Asaba.
It was learnt that stopping of the traditional ruler of Owa kingdom from seeing the Director of Protocol caused lots of mixed feelings on the part of the traditional ruler.
Messages were allegedly sent across to the royal father by some persons in the corridor of power in the state to apologise for the ugly incident letting him to understand that it was not a calculated plan to marling his personality but was an instruction from the hospital’s management.
It was gathered that the Director of Protocol who nearly lost his life, was revived due to the mercy of God.
Eboigbe, who was discharged from the hospital some weeks ago, is gradually recovering.
Since the discharge of Eboigbe from the hospital, majority of government functionaries in the state have began to wear face mask alleging that the illness of the Director of Protocol may be linked to Covid-19 since there were restrictions while he was in the hospital. But some other sources also alleged that it was a normal malaria.
As at the time of going to the press, the Director of Protocol has not resumed work in his office.
