* New President General advised to sanitize organization
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the Chairman of Champion Newspaper and a former Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Constitution Review Committee, has been appointed the new President General of the organization, replacing Prof. George Obiozor, who died in office.
This appointment was done by the Imeobi, the apex body of the organization.
It could be recalled that before his appointment Ohanaeze Ndigbo had been in moribund state due to some fraudsters in the Executives of the parent body, women wing, youth wing etc, that hijacked the affairs of the organization, because Obiozor was incapacitated. These fraudsters were roaming round all nook and crannies of the shore of Nigeria during the 2023 general elections duping politicians under the pretence of endorsements. The sorry issues currently in heart were the Rivers, Delta and Lagos debacles where the Ohanaeze Ndigbo fraudulently duped the governors money running into millions of naira under endorsements.
It is also a known fact that presently Ohanaeze has lost its glory, the Igbo nation has no more trust in it as their mouth peace.
However, it is believed that with the coming of Chief Iwuanyawu as the President General, things might change in Ohanaeze from the worst to best.
Based on this development, the Igbo Nation has called on Iwuanyawu to please sanitize Ohanaeze Ndigbo immediately, by making sure that these executive members that have brought Ohanaeze Ndigbo to national ridicule are brought to book. This action will improve the image of the organization that has badly been battered.
