Governorship hopeful of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State, David Edevbie is a bad product to occupy Dennis Osadebe House come 2023.
ZN reports revealed that Edevbie’s ambition has continued to suffer set back following his involvement in drug taking.
It was alleged that since it was discovered that the former Commissioner for Finance is fingered in Cocaine taking, many PDP faithful in the State are presently disassociating themselves from him and believing that this act of drug addiction of David Edevbie, shows that he is not qualified for the governorship seat of the State.
Allowing David Edevbie becoming the flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party in 2023 election and governor of the state, heinous crimes like rape, banditry, public harassment and killings among others will become the order of the day. Values, focus and future of the State will be lost as a result of his participation in drug addiction.
Investigations revealed that the former Chief of Staff Government House, lacks human relations, integrity, character and leadership quality to lead the State to the promise land.
According to ZN sources, if voted into power, Edevbie who takes cocaine on daily basis will use the State’s funds to sustain his addiction. This is the more reason why David Edevbie should not be given the opportunity to the seat of governor.
The leadership of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made it publicly that anybody vying for elective positions in the country, should undergo a drug test to enable him contest on a clean slate, because the drug test is necessary to ensure that politician vested with important national and state offices do not used budgetary allocation to go and buy cocaine instead of providing needed services for the masses .
It will be recalled that David Edevbie, former Commissioner for Finance in former governor James Ibori’s administration, played a vital role in assisting Ibori to divert funds into private accounts. As a result of which Ibori was imprisoned in United Kingdom for money laundry.
Also learnt, was that Edevbie was among the top government functionaries in the State that were invited by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning for fraudulent financial deals of the State government treasury.
Edevbie would have hid his face than signifying interest to contest the governorship seat of the State because of his past.
Edevbie is not capable of proposing a modernization agenda for the State, his key drive towards engineering a robust state economy which includes, provision of 24 hours power, industrialization, diversification of the State economic base, improvement of the security architecture, jobs and wealth creation, integrated social infrastructure development and public service reforms, creating enabling environment and enterprise opportunities for Deltans are fallacies from Edevbie’s political gimmicks.
Edevbie is not a sellable governorship hopeful for the people’s Democratic Party, because he has no good intentions for the people of Delta state but to encourage corruption of all manners and drug abuse.
Sources disclosed that observers will continue to argue that every aspirants of PDP vying for the governorship seat, should have a fair chance of contesting not as ibori and his crannies are trying to impose Edevbie on the party and people of Delta State. They are trying to divide the party as part of their game plan to retain power in 2023.
Ibori and his crannies from Delta Central have been emphasising on zoning to maneuver their way for David Edevbie to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
Deltans should be told where it should be, Ibori and his crannies should stop deceiving themselves because Delta State PDP is at a cross roads.
It was alleged that Ibori who is the strong factor behind Edevbie’s governorship intention, is making everything humanly and otherwise to see Edevbie becomes the governorship candidate of the party.
Many meetings have been presided by Ibori with some bigwigs of the party, across the State informing them on the need to support the governorship ambition of his choice as one the founders of the party.
According to sources, Ibori said he has paid his dues for going to prison for the party and this is the period for the party to pay back by allowing his choice, Edevbie to become the flagbearer. Some of the party stalwarts in the State, who are not okay with the plans of Ibori to impose Edevbie on them, have decided to put a stop to that by supporting for free and fair primaries for the party.
It was gathered that Ibori, Edevbie, Otutu and a former Commissioner in the State, were all living under same roof in United Kingdom.
When Edevbie was a Regional manager in a bank in UK, he assisted Ibori in money laundering. This is the reason why immediately Ibori became the governor of the State, he brought Edevbie to Delta State, Nigeria to become the Commissioner for Finance.
Deltans should not make the mistake to vote a man like Edevbie who will be tele-guided, controlled by Ibori and Amori to ensure he pushes out State’s treasury to service them while the masses will be wallowing in penury and hunger.
Checks should be conducted on the antecedents of Edevbie. What is his financial record and where did he make his money.
