Former Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, Director General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency and former member, representing Aniocha /Oshimili Federal Constituency in House of Representatives, Mrs Joan Onyemeachi Mrakpo, has been murdered in her cold blood by unknown gun men that kidnapped her in Asaba, Delta State capital, in her church during service, as revealed by a family source to ZN, who did not want the names in the print.
Her remains which were stripped, abused and badly battered by the gun men were found around the Onitsha end of the Niger Bridge, around 7.30pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
It could be recalled that she was kidnapped and whisked away by the said gun men who ferried her in a boat through the Otu ogu, Asaba end of the River Niger to unknown destination from a viral video clip making rounds , while her police orderly and driver were murdered on the spot of the kidnap.
But the question waiting for answer from the security agencies, that how come was she kidnapped by the gun men from an area believed to be fortified with security agents and the gun men had free ride?
A school of thought is pointing accusing hand at her political family, while the other is pointing accusing finger to some persons who did not like her style of administration as a Director General of the Capital Territory.
However, Deltans are waiting for the outcome of police investigation.
