Delta State Civil Liberties Organization Will Resist Sharing Of Government Lands To Politicians, Others

The Delta State branch of the Civil Liberties Organization(CLO), rising from a meeting held in Asaba, Delta State Capital, called on the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, not to allow politicians and other top public office holders to take over or share amongst themselves government lands recovered from illegal tenants.
It’s a known fact that whenever government lands were recovered as done by previous governments, the lands were secretly shared amongst the politicians and top public office holders.
The CLO, said while they support the governor in doing everything possible to recover all the government lands taken over by illegal occupants in the State, it will not accept a situation where the lands were secretly shared.
The CLO, has visited the Anwai area where the governor is doing everything possible to recover all the lands belonging to Denis Osadebe University, Asaba, that were taken over by illegal occupants, and a good commendation was given to the governor for that action. But called on the Governor to make sure the lands were used for the purposes they were allocated for. By doing this, credence would be added to his government. As he would also be seen as a Governor with a difference amongst all the governors that had ruled the State.
The group didn’t hesitate to advise those affected by the Governor’s actions to follow the lawful way to recover their monies from those that sold the lands to them illegally.
