DELTA CP CALLS FOR COOPERATION
The new Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr Wale Abass has called on members of the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies at all times to enable the police force to carry out its function efficiently and effectively.
He disclosed this at a takeover remarks from his predecessor, Mr Ari Mohammed Ali in Asaba, Delta State, stressing that the youths should not allow themselves to be used for any act of criminality.
The new Commissioner of Police in State, who is happily married with children, promised to make the state uncomfortable for criminals.
Wale Abass who is not a new officer in the state, assured Deltans of building on existing security mechanisms
already in place towards enthrowning the reign of peace and safety in State.
Abass who has worked as DCP(SCID) Delta State, has vowed to deploy citizen’s engagement strategy, intelligence drive tools and strategic approaches to crime prevention, detecting and prosecution.
Checks have it that Abass who hails from Ede North Local Government Area, Osun State, has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political Science from the University of Lagos also has Master’s Degree in information law and diplomacy from University of Lagos.
He was enrolled into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990 as a member of course 16 cadet Asp and trained in the elite police academy kaduna.
It was learnt he served in different capabilities in the police force as: 16 squadron (PMF), where he was elevated to the position of commander of the squadron, served as Area Commander Mubi, Adamawa State, Area Commander Railway, Lagos State Railway Command, Assistant Commander of Police SCID Delta State. Also, Area Commander ‘c’ surulere Lagos State, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operation Yobe State, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ogun State, Deputy Commission of Police SCID, Oyo State Command.
Information available to ZN revealed that Wale Abass was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police and was posted to Benue State Police Command in 2022. Where he worked for one year and four months before he was posted to Delta State.
Abass has been advised by concerned Deltans to ensure his operational base is extended to the grassroots for his administration to get better results.
