Bishop Anthony Gbuji, recently celebrated his 50th episcopal anniversary in Enugu.
He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1965. In 1973, he was lifted to the position of a Bishop. He remained in charged of Issele Uku Diocese for years until he was moved to Enugu to become the Bishop of the Diocese, where he retired after years of meritorious service in God’s vineyard. He was later recalled from his retirement to oversee the Benin Diocese, when issues of importance arose.
He is a native of Akwukwu Igbo town in Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State. He remains one of the oldest celebrated living black Catholic priests and Bishop in Nigeria , having spent 58years in the Lord’s Vineyard.
