After the mega rally of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held at Cenotaph, Asaba, Delta State, where all the governorship aspirants of the party were in attendance to showcase their political popularity, the popularity of Rt. (Hon.) Sherrif Oborevwori, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly/Governorship hopeful has immensely increased.
Investigations revealed that Oborevwori became a household name in the political power play in the State, when his political posters flooded all the nooks and crannies of Delta State.
Following his declaration in 2021 for the position of 2023 governorship seat of the State, members and staff of the Delta State House of Assembly, (DTHA) and friends of the governorship hopeful have thrown their supports behind him, because he had proven beyond doubts that the dividends of democracy which the masses are yearning for can be achieved by the instrumentality of genuine, conscious and focused quality representation of the frontline runner for the People’s Democratic Party’s governorship seat.
It was learnt that Sheriff Oborevwori’s style of leadership made him a suitable and qualified person to move Delta State forward, because Deltans will witness more people-oriented projects, empowerment and human development.
It was gathered that since he assumed office as the Speaker, he has redefined responsible leadership and indeed, he is desirous to continue with Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s legacies as soon as his tenure expires in 2023.
The popularity of Sheriff Oborevwori did not come from the blues but from his good representation of the people in the political system of Delta State.
Many persons from and outside the State have benefited from his empowerment scheme, which includes cash presentation, car gifts, starter packs, hair driers, generators amongst other.
Bills and motions have been received and have seen the light of the day following his commitments towards serving the interests of Deltans in repositioning Delta State House of Assembly.
In view of his rising political profile, some detractors who did not like his face went to author a faceless publication against Sheriff Oborevwori to promote falsehood that he was no longer in the 2023 governorship race.
The speaker has made it loud and clear that he is still much in the race as the front runner for the 2023 governor seat of the state and there is no going back.
Deltans should discard such mischievous publication and support his governorship ambition because his ambition is divine and he has demonstrated it from the beginning of his declaration.
The Ukodo of Okpe Kingdom is not a new entrant in Delta State politics.
Information available to ZN revealed that Rt. (Hon.) Sheriff Oborevwori had held various positions in the State which includes: Supervisory Councilor for works, Senior Special Assistant on Security to the Governor of Delta State, Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Youth Development, Special Adviser on Land and Security, State Co-ordinator of the Amnesty programme.
Also learnt was that he is a Fellow of Institute Chartered Mediators (FICMC), member Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Chartered Management Consultants Canada, Certificate on Top Executive Leadership Programme, Manchester Business School, Manchester University, Certificate on Conflict Resolution in Democracy, Dubai, Certificate on Legislative Management and Leadership, International Law Institute (ILI) Washington DC, USA, Certificate on Leading Inclusive Development from London School of Economics and Political Science.
