Today, if not all Nigerians, but majority of them will agree that the standard of education has fallen to zero level. It is a known fact that a lot of graduates from Nigerian universities cannot write simple job application letter. Even some of the lecturers can’t do same. Why? Because the foundation of education has been destroyed by the leaderships of Nigeria.

Being that as it may, the destruction of education in Nigeria was not only caused by the government alone but in connivance with school administrators at the lower levels.  At the just concluded junior and senior WAESCE, ZN’s investigation can authoritatively reveal that virtually all the schools visited while the examination was going on were seen being aided in malpractices by the school principals, teachers and some examiners. What the principals did were to surcharge the students. From the money collected, part was used to bribe the examiners  who now allowed the teachers to be telling the students answer’s to the questions, while the remaining money goes into the principals’ pockets. ZN can authoritatively say that in Oruchi Secondary School, Okpanam, the students contributed the sum of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) each, which was termed “CLEARANCE” to enable the principal of the school settle the examiner to allow the students cheat during the Mathematics and English Language examinations.

In another development, it was garnered that the Principal of Zappa Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Mrs Nkeachi Onyia, whose retirement was due allegedly diverted some amount of money contributed by students as PTA levy, running into millions of naira. Investigation by ZN revealed that the Principal allegedly collected One Thousand Naira (Nl,000) each from over Two Thousand Students of the school yearly between 2021 and 2022, without accounting for the money.

Sources confirmed to ZN that all efforts made by the Parents Teachers Association towards rendering account of the money failed. Throughout the years in question, the Principal also failed to call for meetings, according to sources.

Further information gathered from ZN investigation confirmed that only the sum of Three Hundred  and Thirty Three Thousand Naira was paid into the PTA’s account by the Principal from the total amount collected from the students.
