Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have invaded Okpanam Community in Oshimili North Local Government Area Of Delta State.
The Commission was invited based on petition forwarded to the Anti-graft Commission by an indigene whose lands was illegally disposed by some land barons in the community
According to information available to ZN, the lands in question were illegally disposed without the consent of the original owner and this ugly trend provoked him(owner) to invite the Commission through a petition.
It was gathered that some buildings and landed properties belonging to the petitioner that were illegally disposed have been sealed with the seal of EFCC.
Most of the land barons involved in the illegal sales of the property are on the run while the principal actors are in prison custody.
It was learnt that documents to the sold properties belonging to the petitioner were duly forged by the culprits without the consent of the petitioner.
Several invitations were made to the perpetrators by the commission before going into action but to no avail investigations revealed that most titled owners and elders in the community whose hands are in the fradulent land activities, are on the run.
