WARNINGS ON THE TEMPORAL NATURE OF CREATED THINGS

Even the temple of God was predicted to be temporal and will be destroyed at the end of time. That a time will come when one stone will not be left on another. This shows the temporality of created things. Everything created in the world are but for a time. Everything has an expiration date. Life even has its own expiration date.

The prophecy of Daniel details for Nebuchadnezzar the fact that the world even though made of materials as strong as gold, silver, iron, steel and stones, there will be a time when all things will cease to exist. That even the strong and beautiful things have their expiration date. So also is the kingdoms that they rule. Kingdoms will fizzle out and their reign will come to an end.

In the gospel Jesus warns us against false predictions by false prophets and pastors. That even though the world will come to an end one day, yet we must not be anxious or begin to anticipate when this will happen. The need to run away from anxiety, worries and situations of this sort means that we must keep up with the good life of grace, working with God and being in tune with God’s spirit.

Even though signs of the end time will be visibly seen, yet the actual date or day eludes man. That is why it is necessary to keep doing the good, keep living the life, keep holding unto grace and Christ. No need for anxiety, no need for headaches and no need for any form of heartbreaks, because anxiety and worries makes one uneasy and can lead to deceptions.

But more importantly we must never allow ourselves to be distracted by the beauty of the world, the ornaments and the pleasure of this world, Because the order in the world, the beauty of the eye and the enticement of the heart will cease or end one day. So, creation with its beauty and order must not be a deception for us.

Jesus warns us against this kind of deception that people may bring into our lives and make us live as slaves to the world. We must never allow ourselves to be deceived by people, be they fake or false prophets and pastors or even priests. Let our light continue to burn no matter the signs of the time, no matter the conditions of our lives. We must keep faith with Christ, hold unto him, trust his grace and love, walk along with him, following his laws and statutes.

Our Good God knows our beginning and our end and can never abandon us. And in all you do, always remember that the end of our lives and the end of the world are all in view. Keep this always in your mind and work along with grace in your lives.

God, our Eternal Father, the fear of the unknown sometimes keeps us anxious, worried and frightened. Grant us a settled mind and remove all our fears. Continually assure us of your love and grace working with and in us always. Lead us to good life, life of happiness and grace, life of righteousness and love and life filed with good memories of your abiding love and peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.
