Charles Aniagwu Should Mann Ministry of Education

    Governor Sheriff Oborevwori should be commended for nominating Hon Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu as Commissioner designate.
    Charles Aniagwu who has been proven and tested as a Commissioner for Information under Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s administration should be given the opportunity to serve as Commissioner in the following Ministries in the State: Education, Works and Economic Planning because he is experienced and a strategist.
    Instead of reassigning Aniagwu to Ministry of Information where he served for four years,
    others should be given the mantle of leadership in the Ministry of Information, it will give Deltans the opportunity to compare the performances of Aniagwu and his successor in the leadership of the Ministry of Information .
    Investigations revealed that Aniagwu will do creditably well in the aforementioned Ministries than in information sector of the State.
    Checks also revealed that when the former Commissioner for Information, Chief Patrick Ukah left for Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, he did perfectly well.
    Rt (Hon) Solomon Funkekeme who is a Journalist by Profession,
    also did well in the Ministry of Works as Commissioner. Chike Ogeah also an erudite lawyer by profession did well as Commissioner for Information in the State during Former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration.
    If Charles Aniagwu who is a man with outstanding and admirable leadership, with Sterling reputation should be made a Commissioner in one of the above named Ministries, is not a misplaced priority.
    The generality of Delta North and Deltans because of his humane and amiable nature, Hon Charles Aniagwu has attracted a wide base of popular political fellowship among youths, women and fellow politicians.
    Also learnt was that Aniagwu was the brain behind the welfare scheme package of the Ministry of Information. Most of the Staff in the Ministry of Information and Journalists within and outside the state benefitted from him when he was Commissioner for Information, the facts are there in the memory lane of the beneficiaries.
    Sources revealed that most of his critics from the media industry in the state benefitted from him both humanly and financially otherwise.
    Hon Charles Aniagwu, an orator, a builder of man, a humanitarian and a facilitator, was born to the family of Chief and Mrs Agboje Aniagwu of Akumazi-Umuocha in Ika North- East Local Government Area of Delta State.
    He had his early education at Umuocha Primary School, Akumazi, Grammar School, Ndemili, In Ndokwa west Local Government Area of the State, where he obtained his West African Examination Councilor the (WAEC) Certificate in 1988. There after, he proceeded to Auchi polytechnic in 1991, where he obtained a National Diploma in Mass Communication in 1995
    During his Sojourn in Auchi polytechnic in 1992, he took part in the mandatory four months Industrial Training program and worked at the office of the former Governor of Edo State, Chief John
    Odigie Oyegun. He also had a year stint with the Lion of African Insurance company, Lagos in 1994, under the Industrial Attachment Scheme at that time, before proceeding to the Ogun State Polytechnic in 1996 to pursue a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication.
    Having obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication, in 1999 he proceeded to Yobe State for the Mandatory National Youth Service, where he worked as information Officer in the State’s Ministry of Information.
    Upon completion of his service year, he worked briefly with the Rural Link Publications Limited, Publishers of the Yobe Rural Link, and was assigned to the Government House beat.
    Seeking to further develop himself, Charles Aniagwu under took Further Studies in the University of Calabar, where he was awarded a post- Graduate Diploma in Public Administration.
    Charles Aniagwu is a holder of several certificate in courses he has participated in over the years, which includes: one in Modern Broadcast Technologies from the renowned Deutsche welle Radio Training Centre in Collaboration with the Voice of Nigeria, a diploma in Computer Studies and others. He has received several awards from corporate organisations and associations.
    Being a media practitioner with over 20yrs experience under his belt, with particular emphasis in perception management, Aniagwu has handled several positions of responsibility in various high ranking establishments.
    It was gathered that in 2001, the Former Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu worked as the Political Correspondent in DBN TV, from where he left for DAAR Communications in 2005 where he served as the National Assembly Correspondent. He was the Co-producer/ Presenter of Political PlatForm for Ray power FM until 2015, until he assumed office as the Chief Press Secretary to the Former Governor of Delta State, Senator ( Dr). Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, a position he held until his appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Information in 2019 till 2023.
    Aniagwu is an astute businessman and until 2015, sat as the Chairman/CEO of Jace Darl Investment Nigeria Ltd Hotels and also the Chairman CEO of Jace-Darl Media and Communication Nigeria Ltd with a staff strength of over 200.
    He is a philanthropist who has keen interest in empowering youths to become entrepreneurs .
    He is an intellectual, who is passionate about travelling, listening to and participating in International and Political Debates. His second coming into the State Executive Council will help to strengthen the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to achieve his M.O.R.E. Agenda Programme.
    He is happily married and blessed with children.
