It is said that, courtesy is as much a mark of a gentleman as courage. Also the fiercier the battle, the sweeter the victory. The member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Reps Ngozi Okolie, who went to battle with the PDP and their candidate Ndudi Elumelu,in the 2023 NASS election, received the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abass, in his country home, Asaba, Delta State capital. The Speaker, who was on official visit to Delta State was accompanied in the visit by members of the NASS and one of the the political heavyweights in Delta State and former Commissioner, Chief Dr Austin Izagbo.
During the visit issues that would be of beneficial to Aniocha / Oshimili Federal Constituency were discussed. Since the assumption of office, this was the first working visit to Delta State, by the Speaker in the annal of history . It was a history breaking. The Speaker is a member of APC, while Ngozi Okolie is a member of Labour Party. Antagonizing and war mongering politicians who practice politics of bitterness should learn from this groundbreaking historic visit. The quality leadership example exhibited by the Speaker and Ngozi Okolie, which showed brotherhood and unity irrespective of religion, tribe and party affiliation should be emulated by these negative politicians who want to use political, religious and tribal affiliation to destroy the nation.
Recently Ngozi Okolie finally defeated the PDP candidate, Ndudi Elumelu, whom he has indirectly sent on a national politcal retirement in the Court of Appeal after a fierce and holistic battle.
That victory showed that with God everything is possible. That money can not change GOd’s decision. It further revealed that he who finds favour in the Lord can never be defeated in anything.
