Political Appointments Will Be On Merit, Capability and Competence

At the swearing in ceremony of the Secretary to the State Government and Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, held at the Unity Hall of the Government House, Asaba, Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori disclosed that appointments will be based on Merit, Capability and Competence.
He said ” we need capable, tested and competent hands who can hold their own and be worthy ambassadors of the government.
Rest assumed, it will be a good mix of youth and experience but they must be deserving.”
Oborevwori maintained that his administration will be faithful to its M.O.R.E Agenda, stressing that in formulation of management, he will be mindful of the needs and inspiration of the people of Delta.
However, the governor made it loud and clear that his government will have zero tolerance for sectionalism and nepotism, adding that he is ana unrepresentant believer in the unity of the State.
“Political Appointees in my administration must shun ethnic politics and sectionalism, regarding the entire state as constituency, and I must be fair to all Deltans, said Oborevwori”.
He advised the appointees to key into the M.O.R.E Agenda programme of his government to enable him break new ground in Infrastructural renewal, human capital development and social investment programmes.
He said that his administration will be all inclusive in the area of appointments and projects distribution.
As a Governor who so much believes in grassroots development, Deltans are expecting your administration to bring the dividends of democracy to the State and deliver great legacies that will be in the memory lane of the citizens of the State.
Governor Oborevwori former Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, has proven himself in discharging his legitimate assignments in the services of the government of Delta State.
