OKPANAM:HAUSA MARKET TURNS CENTRE FOR CONSUMPTION OF HARD DRUGS

A clarion call has been made to National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) by concerned Deltans to draft its operatives to the popular Hausa Market in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State where drug business has become the order of the day.
The officials of the drug law should take steps to see that those involved in the illicit drug business are brought to book.
The market which is described as a centre for consumption of hard drugs like cocaine, indian hemp and tramadol, is located along Okpanam bye pass.
Those allegedly involved in the business are youths. The perpetrator of the business are found standing along the road side expecting their buyers.
Drug abuse has taken a frightening dimension in the society today and efforts should be made by those in authority at re-orientating Nigerian youths on the need to shun drug in take.
Also, youths should channel their youthful energy into providing solutions to contemporary. Societal challenges bedevilling the country.
Illicit drug business has degenerated into a sinister cartel to unleash heinous offences such as rape, banditry, public harassment, homicide and killings amongst other.
The menace of drug abuse as it is turning out today among Nigerian youth, has eaten deep and increased degradation of values that made most of the youths to lose focus on their academics pursuits and future.
