The People’s General of Delta State and beyond, Ben Enwose, popularly known as Ben Lion Heart, supported Senator Ned Nwoko, whom he called Anioma Star, on the Bills which he had been chumming out in the red chamber of the National Assembly.
Ben Lion appreciated the efforts of Ned Nwoko, whom he called a vibrant, intelligent and kind hearted Senator, for pushing among others, the Bills for the creation of Anioma State as well as Rent Regulations in Nigeria.
He stated that Ned, is another workaholic son of Anioma Region and Nigeria in general like shining star Nyesome Wike, who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to Ben Lion Heart, it was absurd to see houses and estates vacant because people could not afford to pay between two years and three years rent. The Bill in respect of monthly rent should not be debated against against at all. Which he, Ben Lion has started implementing on his properties.He stressed that the Senators should be proud that Ned was speaking the minds of majority of Nigerians.
As a matter of urgency he called on the Senate to pass the Bill as well as regulate rent in Nigeria. Furthermore the Senate should make it compulsary that any unoccupied estate for more than six months should pay fine to the Federal Government as well as open the flats for occupation and collect rent on behalf of the owner.
Speaking further, he confirmed that Nigerians were wasteful lots. He wondered why someone will build houses that would be unoccupied.
He advised that the government should establish a Parastatal to handle this noble idea from Ned Nwoko, stating that we have to start from somewhere in order to make life bearable for the masses.
He called on the government of President Ahmed Tinubu as a matter of urgency, look into the passage of the Bill.
He said that the time to show that the government cares for the voters was now and through helping the masses to breath with a rent regulation and food security.
In conclusion, Ben Lion heart advocated for a tougher penalty for kidnapping. He appealed that the Human Rights Organizations should allow the law of retributive justice to take its place when kidnappers were caught.
He called on the government to revisit the issue of those on death roll to enable judgement executed.
