Why Uduaghan Lost in 2014 Governorship Primary

One of the reasons why former Governor Uduaghan lost out in 2014 PDP governorship primaries despite the internal scrabbles coming from aggrieved members of the party on his choice of late Tony Obuh, was his refusal to the $750m demanded by the former National chairman of the party,  Mu’azu.

Mu’azu was accused to have requested $750m from Uduaghan to enable him give approval to the candidacy of Tony Obuh as the party flagbearer of the party in 2015.

When Emmanuel Uduaghan realised that the money asked for by the National Chairman was much, he decided to ignore the demand and opted for the support of the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, whom he thought would have given the necessary supports to actualize his mission of installing his candidate to become the flagbearer of the party, but failed.

It was at this point he ran to Ibori at London prison to discuss another way since Tony Obuh’s ambition had been scuttled both at State and national levels.

Being a master planner, Ibori insisted that the only way to stop the ambition of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa from clinching the governorship primary ticket of the party, was for Edevbie to join the race.

Okowa thought Ibori was giving him backing but he never knew Ibori was using David Edevbie to stop his emergence as party flagbearer.

Okowa’s emergence, was God’s intervention and sympathy from Deltans, who believed that he has worked for the growth and development of the party.

This is why today, Governor Uduaghan has gone into political oblivion because of his inability to pick a successor.
