The Cartage building housing a cinema hall, sharing boundaries with Rain Oil and Gabbs Shopping Mall, along Okpanam Road, is on fire now. Men of the fire service and public spirited individuals for hours as at the time of filing this report had been doing everything possible within the obsolete equipment they have within their to put off the inferno.
All offices within the area have been closed down for businesses. As the fire ranges on, the cause of the had not been known. But it was alleged the fire was caused by electrical problems ignited by BEDC.
With this development one believed that the government will now as a matter of urgency equip the fire service with necessary and modern equipments needed by fire fighters stop fire.
