DELTA STATE CIVIL LIBERTIES ORGANIZTION CALLS ON EFFCC TO ARREST SENATORS, OTHERS THAT COLLECTED MONEY FROM EMEFIELE FOR ELECTION PURPOSE
The Delta State Civil Liberties Organization, Human Rights Group has called on the Economic, Financial and Other Related Crimes Commission, EFCC, to arrest all the Senators of last Senate that collected money from the embattled deposed Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, during his intention to contest the 2023 Presidential Election.
The group arising from a meeting in Asaba, Delta State capital, stated that these Senators and others who were involved in the political dead game should be arrested, investigated and brought to book by the Anti Graft department.
According to the Human Rights group, it was obvious that the money which ran into billions of the US dollars that were collected by these Senators were part of the public funds allegedly stolen from the public treasury by Emefiele. The funds must be recovered from these people.
According to the group the Anti Graft, should start the action from Delta State which is the constituency of Emefiele and where it was believed that a good sum of the money was spent.
This huge sum of money stolen can not be denied being part of what is affecting the present situation of the country’s economy.
It could be recalled that Emefiele, before the Presidential election signified his interest of contesting the number one Nigeria’s lucrative position but backed out before the party primary, having spent huge sum of money in dollars especially on Senators to assisting in emerging as candidate.

In another development, the former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa and the incumbent Sheriff Oborevwori, have continued to receive members of the APC and Labour Party from top to bottom in the State, that want to cross carpet to PDP.
