Deltans Mourn as Asagba, Cairo Join their Ancestors

Delta State has been thrown into mourning as Asagba, Cairo join their Ancestors.
The Asagba of Asaba, Professor Chike Edozien, has said goodbye to the people of Asaba. The popular and renowed professor of medicine joined his ancestors yesterday afternoon, the February 7th, 2024, at a riped age of almost a century.
The Asagba would be remembered for adding colours to the traditional institutions.
He had travelled both far and near. He was sometime the leader of Delta State traditional rulers and before his demise a leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. He was an accomplished son of Asaba and Nigeria in general.
Years and months back before his death it was severally rumored that he was dead but only to be confirmed he was alive.
Presently, his death has not been announced publicly by the palace, but the Asaba indigenes both home and abroad were already wearing a mourning face.
As a traditional ruler, his death would take few days to be announced by the palace. All that could be said now is that the Asagba is still alive, only that they are searching for the (Agu) lion that has entered the forest.
It is a fact that his death might cause an irreplaceable vacuum in Asaba traditional kingdom because his shoes would be too big for his successor to put on.
Also, in another development, a prominent APC chieftain, Dr.Cairo Ojougboh, Medical Doctor and Former MP has passed away during the Nigeria vs.South Africa match. He was a casualty of the Nigeria/South Africa AFCON match.
The sad incident happened when the penalty was awarded against Nigeria. Dr Ojougboh was said to have screamed immediately the South African player converted the penalty and slumped due to massive heart attack when SA scored.
Dr Cairo Ojougboh from Delta state represented Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives 2003-2007.
Before his death, he was a prominent Agbor Chief and a close associate of the Dein of Agbor Kingdom. He is well known to he very vociferous when it comes to issues of politics.
He started his career as a teacher in Erigbe Primary School formerly Government School, Agbor, before proceeding to Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, where he graduated and moved to the University of Benin, where. he studied Medicine.
He was brought up in politics under tutelage of late Anthony Anenih.
