Community Newspaper Publishers Hold Annual Lecture/Award Ceremony

On November 30, 2023, Community Newspaper Publishers under the aegis of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN), Delta State Council will be holding her lecture and Award ceremony at the press centre of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), along Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba.

The press Statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Publisher’s Media Week Committee, Comrades Philip Ike Abiagom and Solomon Ogala disclosed that the Lecture/Award Ceremony which is the fifteen edition, will begin by 11:00am.

According to the press release, personalities like member, representing Okpe Constitueny in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon James Augoye, Commissioner for Finance, Hon Fidelis Tilije Okemor, Chairman Independent Electoral Commission, Delta State, Dr Jerry Agbaike, Commandant,Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Delta State, Suleiman Agboola Jimoh, HRM, (Dr) Obi Ifechukwude Aninish Okonjo II, Head of Service, Delta State, Mr Reginald Bayoko and ACP Ademola Adebayo will be honoured.

Programme with the themes: “The Role of Media, Building Synergy Between Government And Grassroots For Effective Service Delivery,” “Co-operative Society, Model Palliative For Self-Reliance, Economic Growth And Industrialization”, will have the Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, Rt (Hon) Solomon Funkekeme and Internal Auditor, Co-operative College, Oji River, Enugu State, Pst Daniel Idowu Okeze as Guest Speakers.

It was gathered that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will feature as Special Guest of Honour while Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), Hon Charles Aniagwu, Former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State, Hon (Barr) Peter Mrakpor SAN, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Fide Egwulemu Investment Ltd, Ogbuefi Fidelis Egwulemu and former, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Provost Emeritus, Dr Ignatius Ezoem are to be present at the ceremony. His Royal Majesties of Umu Ebu Kingdom, Amb Donald Ejechi Ekeruche and Abala Kingdom, Obi Fredrick Chukwuloe Egbunkonye II are the Royal Fathers of the day.

The event which will attract question and answer, will build lasting relationship and connections that will help participants to advance their media works and grassroots reportage with the people in their different communities in Nigeria.

Many persons who had the opportunity to attend the programme in the past, had gotten golden opportunity to benefit world Class training and monitoring session from the erudite Speakers.

The awardees who were congratulated in advance , were nominated for the 2023 ACNPN Excellence Award, sequel to their contributions in their various professions for the growth and development of their communities.

The press release reads “Our core mandate is to regulate the activities of our members in the interest of creating enabling business environment, advocate for good governance, proper grassroots reportage, adherence to professional ethics and supporting of the public good”.
